Global Com has been selected by Level 3 to design and install a GPON network to support the analog phone service at this Navy facility. The government needed to bring order and scalability to the large number of analog phone deployed on the base. The quality of phone service has been poor due to the dated infrastructure. Global Com will migrate the phone lines onto a existing fiber pathway in order to eradicate the connectivity issues. This solution will eliminate the need for reinstallation of expensive copper cable and will save a significant capital investment by the Government. Built on the Tellabs GPON network, the phone system will be fully scalable and changes easily made via the Panaroma interface.
